Radical changes in the compensation of NCAA athletes, and even elite high school athletes, has LEVITATION owner and attorney Chris Macke predicting a paradigm shift in the business of athlete representation. “Over the past 3 years, changes in the law and in the NCAA regulations have basically eliminated the rules against athletes being paid. Recent legal cases have led to a pending class action settlement in House v NCAA in which the NCAA has put up over $2.5 billion to pay ALL Division 1 athletes who competed between 2016-2024 in any sport, but questions about the fairness of how that money is distributed are just beginning because estimated payouts were only released on December 17. “At LEVITATION we have a number of clients who are disappointed by the estimated class action payout, and we are working through that,” Macke said.*
